That gameplay problem you mentioned is exactly why most like the older games. I recommend Black and White 1 or 2.

There's people who say that pokemon battles need an entire overhaul but I strongly disagree, there's *SO MUCH* that goes into a battle - abilities, held items, natures, IVs, EVs, team synergy, predictions - but it's just that the games do a horrible job of presenting all that. Come on GameFreak give us a harder mode where you implement all that stuff (that's already there!) into in-game battles!

@Ângelo Gomes All those aren't really huge problem imo. For the 400 pkmn cut, just when does anyone actually transfer pokemon into newer games. Wild area is pretty ugly, but then the normal game is absolutely gorgeous, so... And we got rid of megas and z moves, pretty sad, except that Sun and Moon didn't do stuff for Megas, just let them be in the game, and Z-moves are alola specific. The Mega thing and dex cut annoys me too, but saying that that ruins all the life in the characters, the game looking amazing in most areas, and everything else in sword and shield, is idiotic.

Sword and shield is actually harder if you are used to the easier games of the last two generations, you actually need to be a good level in sword and shield and that sometimes took grinding, I couldn’t just blitz it like sun and moon or x and y, but all this being said if you know how to play Pokémon red and blue are actually very easy and the only reason people think the games were harder in the past are because let’s face it games are harder when you were a kid

Doug the first time i had to fight ryhan i died 5 times the second time i died 50 no joke i was even having beter types then him and i kept dieing because his fire pokemon had grass type moves and his water type pokemon had fire type moves

You should try battling real people. Thats why i have 1000 hours in pokemon sword, because 850 hours were battling and the other 150 were story/farming up pokemon/ breeding them for stats etc. Battling real players is where its at tbh. I will admit gen 8 is not the best generation for PvP but its not the worst.
