It seems like most of the time the streams are less funny as edited videos simply because all of the chaos is completely lost and, like, something as hilarious as a naked man running around shooting fire from his neck becomes just something Doug mentions for a few seconds. But you still have to watch the edited videos because there's extra content added onto them! It's like an anime where it's way worse than the manga, loses a lot of the effectiveness of great scenes, etc., but there's extra things added in sometimes, some of which are even canon.
